31/12 bedok countdown

3:40:00 AM

"Before I leave, let me teach you one last thing: Be firm on your grounds," a wise old man told me.

Worked at Bedok's countdown event earlier. Helped to give out biscuits!

It's really puzzling why this old man bothered coming back to my booth again and again. Each time he was back, he would be eating a different ice cream. He wasn't there to take any biscuits nor check on progress nor to help me out. He was just there to observe.

Occasionally, he would comment something.
"Don't let the kids get their way. Or our generation is gonna be filled with spoilt people"
"Don't be too fussy. Fussy. You know? F U S S Y. Fussy." He said that when I insisted I would only give one pack of biscuits per person (as per instructed). Some people wanted to take more.
When he came back some time later, "I see you're more flexible now"

At first, I thought he was nitpicking on me or being unsatisfied with the way I work so I didn't really wanna talk to him and kept my replies damn short. But now, thinking about it....... it seemed like he was imparting lessons about life o_o Although I beg to differ about the 'fussy' part.

But the thing is...... why me? He didn't bother asking my name and neither do I know his. All he asked was my education level and all I know, is that he is one of the helper's boss.

Somehow I get the feeling that we may cross paths again. And if we do, I'll ask him so~
