It's either the weather, the stress or the late nights, my nose is killin me right now . And recently my left arm muscle had been twitching even though it's doing nothing! Just resting mah arm on the table, doing Math and twitch twitch twitch. I can not only feel the twitch, I can seeee the twitch! It's like my arm has got a heart of its own! O_O
Got reminded of Bio hahahah! Neurons, frequent action potential, EPSP, spatial summation...... Okay just tryna feel like a doctor haha . Since it's neurons-related, I thought perhaps 'shocking' my neurons would help? Went to the toilet and slapped my arm (HAHAHA) just so enough to feel the tingly prickly sensation . HEY IT WORKS KAY! It stopped twitching for the rest of my time in the library :)
Anyway I went home and Google-d it up . The chim name for muscle twitches are called Fasciculation, common cause being magnesium deficiency . Avoid taking caffeine T_T
Other signs of magnesium deficiency (I'll just list the ones I have):
- fasciculations
- loss of appetite
- muscle cramps (occasionally)
- fatigue (*raises brows* Don't most students feel tired studying?? hahahah)
Okay la but can't really trust the net to diagnose myself~ b/c I read somewhere that people just end up scaring themselves after looking at the symptoms and thinking THEY GOT THE DISEASE
Magnesium magnesium magnesium, top 10 foods highest in Magnesium:
1) Dark leafy greens (raw spinach)
2) Nuts and seeds (pumpkin seeds)
3) Fish (mackerel)
4) Beans and lentils (soy beans)
5) Whole grans (brown rice)
6) Avocados (I LOVE AVOCADO MILKSHAKES/SPREAD ^^)
7) Low-fat dairy (plain non-fat yogurt)
8) Bananas
9) Dried fruits (figs, apricots, raisins)
10) My favourite of them all....... DARK CHOCOLATE!!!
